Protecting citizens, property, and the environment are among the most important responsibilities of government agencies. Public safety agencies are the front line of defense for keeping the public and communities safe.
The Lake Cumberland Area Development District (LCADD) Public Safety Planning Program seeks to increase the public’s understanding of regional public safety issues, and help meet the public safety needs of our member counties, cities, and the region’s industrial community. The LCADD assists communities, local governments, businesses, and non-profit entities in developing and preparing programs and projects that identify public safety problems which are targeted with solution based projects.
The LCADD provides planning assistance for regional activities in the areas of Public Safety and Emergency Services. The LCADD staff is currently providing grant application and planning assistance to area county emergency managers, emergency medical services, the Region 12 Hospital Association Bio-Terrorism Committee, law enforcement agencies, volunteer fire and rescue departments, utilities, US 27 Highway Safety Corridor Team, and other emergency response agencies.
